School Uniform FAQ’s
Why School Uniforms?
The demand for school uniforms is growing at an explosive rate.
Public and private schools are moving toward school uniforms in response to
numerous case studies showing that school uniforms really work. Most uniformed
schools have seen reductions in violent incidents and discipline problems and a
rise in academic performance. Uniforms allow quick identification of anyone who
does not belong on school grounds. Finally, uniform policies can serve to
diminish economic and social barriers for children and increase school pride
and a sense of student unity.
What are the advantages to me, as a parent, of School Uniform
policies?
We at WebClothes are parents, too. We like the fact that recent
studies have shown that most parents save from 15% to 25% on school apparel
expenses when children wear school uniforms. Uniforms also reduce the stress
and energy put into discussions about what to wear. Also, WebClothes carries
uniform brands that are designed and manufactured for durability and easy care.
How are the School Uniforms that WebClothes carries made
differently from other brands?
We know how hard children can be on clothing. We also know the
importance of low maintenance clothing that looks great. The brands we carry
have special fabric treatments (Visa™ by Milliken in Classroom™ and DuPont
Teflon™ in K-12 Gear) that resist staining and wrinkling for a crisp look year
round. Cotton and polyester blended fabrics are color fast and durable.
Features such as double stitching and double knees are perfect for active
children. In fact, these garments are so well made that many parents buy them
for their children whose schools do not require uniforms.
What if my child grows significantly during the school year?
No problem. Pants, skirts, skorts and shorts are made with
generous hems that can be let out for more length. Look for elastic waistbands
that can give as your child grows. In the event that you need additional items,
we carry an ample selection of core uniform items year round for your
convenience.
Okay, I’m convinced, but I don’t know what to purchase for
back-to-school. Any recommendations?
Sure. To start the school year, you should have at least the
following:
-
4 bottoms (pants, shorts, skorts, jumpers or skirts)
-
5 tops (polos, blouses or oxfords)
-
7 pairs of socks
-
1 belt
Some parents will find they need to supplement this basic set,
but many find it adequate. Other things to keep in mind while choosing the
right mix of items for your child:
-
Know what your school requires before you buy.
-
Students in cooler climates may need more pants than shorts. Long sleeves
should also be a part of the mix in cooler climates.
-
More active girls may require fewer jumpers and skirts and more pants, short
and skorts.
-
Most schools allow parents and/or children to choose what is most comfortable
within uniform guidelines. Your child may favor short sleeves year round or
prefer pants to skirts. When making uniform purchases, you may want to consider
the student’s preferences up front to avoid disagreements later.
How do I know what sizes to order for my child?
Children grow so quickly! Take a few minutes to measure your
child before you order. It will be easy to find the size that best fits your
child with our school uniform
size chart.
What if I receive my order and need a different size? What is
your return/exchange policy?
At WebClothes, we guarantee all of the school uniform items we
sell. Items may be returned (in original condition) for any reason within 30
days of purchase for an exchange or a full refund of the purchase price. For
full details view our returns/exchange
policy.
